After years of rumors and one scrapped working name ("Cajun"), news reports have the long-speculated Porsche Macan debuting at this year's L.A. Auto Show. Porsche itself has come out with a single page on its international site carrying the simple message that "the Macan is coming." A November debut in L.A. probably would lead to a spring 2014 release date for the Macan, with rumored pricing to be in the low- to mid-$40,000 range, placing it under the Cayenne and making it the least expensive model in Porsche's line. Details aside from the name are scarce, but you can count on it being a five-door CUV sharing a platform with Audi's Q5.
