The Diary of A Money Madwoman: Pimpin' For A Cause

My daughter's school has an auction every fall.?It's their biggest fundraiser of the school year. A parent is required to work at the event,?so I always volunteer for the kitchen crew. I love working in the kitchen and most of the other parents hate it, so it's a win-win!

We also have to sell eight dinner tickets, which with a large, supportive family like ours, is easy peasy. The crappy part of the situation is that we have to wrestle up five donations to auction off, the larger the better. I really stink at soliciting. I've thought about switching chiropractors, but to be honest,?mine donates a massage gift certificate every year and I can't give that up.

The non-participation fee for the auction is $250. If I wasn't so cheap, I think it might be worth it, especially since I end up just buying a few clearance items to donate when I can't come up with enough things.?Not often, but every now and then?I envy the people who can solicit anything from anyone. ?
